Supporting Software Learnability via Online Resources and Communities — Andrea Bunt (University of Manitoba)

Feature-rich software applications, such as Photoshop and AutoCad, are both powerful and notoriously difficult for users to master. While there is no shortage software-specific learning resources available online, these resources are not always easy for users to locate, assess and apply. In this talk I will discuss some of my research group's past and ongoing work on improving the accessibility and utility of online software learning resources. I will also discuss some of the challenges that we have faced in designing and evaluating tools to support software learning and highlight promising opportunities for further research in this space.
